Low on Reading !

This is a dumb post and I already feel stupid in doing so, but I will do it for the sake of showing to myself that if there is need for any new year resolution, it has to be reading more books. Here is a list of literature, I read in 2005.

1) Metamorphosis by Kafka (Re-Read)
2) In the Penal Colony by Kafka
3) A Hunger Artist by Kafka
4) Crime and Punishment by Dostoevski (Re-Read)
5) Ecce Homo by Friedrich Nietzsche
6) The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy
7) Animal Farm by George Orwell
8) Short stories by Saki

This is all I read in 365 days and I feel sorry for myself.

Nice idea to count short stories as separate books!

I wanted to make it to ten, I even thought to include some essays and articles that I have read. Also I haven't fully re-read 'Crime and Punishment', just first 100 pages, I love them. Ok lets make this years list, till now.

1) Dead Souls (Part 1)
2) The Sorrows of Young Werther
3) The Importance of Being Earnest
4) The Old Man and the Sea
5) The Overcoat and The Nose
6) The Quilt (Lihaaf)

Will try to complete:
1) Notes from Underground
2) The Stranger
3) The Potrait of a Young Man as Artist.
4) Lolita/Pnin or something else by Nabokov (Short stories will also do)
5) The Trail or anything else by Kafka
6) Sentimental Education (I am being too ambitious :))

Aha! Joyce, Nabokov, Flaubert, Kafka, Dostoevsky...this is a real high-brow list!
